BELT871 - Fundamental to Enterprise Linux
Course Description
This course designed to provide the basic skills needed to be proficient at the Linux command line, focuses on the fundamental concepts and tools which make Linux so powerful. Students in this course commonly span a variety of skill levels, from beginners desiring a solid foundation in Linux to experienced users seeking to fill in gaps in their knowledge.Subjects focused on during this class include Linux filesystem and how to manipulate it; Linux basic notions of shell scripting such as pipes redirection, regular expressions; tools for performing complex tasks; the management of processes and jobs; vi - the standard Linux editor, and the ability to construct shell scripts to automate routine or difficult operations.
Audience
Users who are new to Linux and have no prior UNIX or command-line skills, who want to develop and practice the basic skills to use and control their own Enterprise Linux system distributions.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to be familiar and comfortable with computers. No familiarity with Linux or other UNIX operating systems is expected or required.
Course Objective
You will learn to:
- Understand basic concept of Linux system.
- How getting Help from your Linux System and system Directories.
- Understanding User and Group concept in Linux and how to manipulate them.
- Deal with File Access Permissions.
- Understanding Linux FileSystem.
- Manage and Manipulate Standard Input and Output.
- Understanding several reading tools in Linux and Regular Expression.
- Introduction to Linux Processes.
- Understanding the bash shell and its functions
Duration
Duration of Course will do it during 4 days, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm or equals 8 hours/day .
